Send a comic, get a comic

The Comic Swap Club is a free comic exchange among kid and teen creators. Simply send your comic(s) to one of our locations and receive a comic from another kid or teen.

STEP 1

Create a Comic

Comics can be a one-panel joke, 3-4 panels, a whole page, or even a little booklet (mini comic or zine). It just has to fit in the mail and you’ll need to pay for postage to and from the Comic Swap Club’s headquarters.

STEP 2

Make Up to 3 Copies

We will send you as many comics as you send us (up to 3).

Send your original comic artwork or make up to 3 copies of it. (If you don’t have a copier, try your local library.)

STEP 3

Include a Return Envelope

First, address your envelope to the Comic Swap Club headquarters and put a postage stamp on it. Inside your envelope, include:

  1. Your comic (or comics if you made copies)
  2. A second, self-addressed return envelope with a postage stamp

Without #2, we can’t send you someone else’s comic.

STEP 4

Mail Your Comic

Send your comic to Comic Swap Club’s headquarters:

STEP 5

Wait Patiently

While you wait, here’s what’s happening:

  1. Your comic travels from you to us
  2. We receive your comic and swap yours with someone else’s
  3. Someone else’s comic travels from us to you

This process can take 2-4 weeks. Maybe you can make another comic while you wait.

STEP 6

Swap Often

We love seeing you share your creativity with others and hope this will make your mail and your creative process more fun.

Keep it up!

8 Blank Comic Templates

Download and print these 8 pre-drawn comic layouts. Turn them up-side down or even sideways for additional layouts.

Remember that the size of each panel tells your reader how long they should spend looking at each part of the story. This is called pacing. For example, a bigger panel means the reader should pause and look at it for a long time, but lots of smaller panels indicates a quick-paced read.

About

After seeing kids' amazing creativity during my school visits, I wanted to encourage them to grow as artists and storytellers.

By seeing their peers' work and sharing their own, kids are encouraged to keep making art and build a community around them.
